Former NBR Chairman Rahmatul Muneem faces travel ban

A Dhaka court has imposed travel ban on four officials including former National Board of Revenue (NBR) Chairman Abu Hena Md. Rahmatul Muneem. Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Magistrate Md. Jakir Hossain Ghalib issued the order on Wednesday following a petition from Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).

Travel bans have been slapped on Abu Hena Md. Rahmatul Muneem's spouse Laila Jesmin too. ACC Public Relations Officer Akterul Islam conveyed this information to journalists yesterday.

ACC Deputy Director Md. Saiduzzaman applied to court for travel ban on Abu Hena Md. Rahmatul Muneem and his wife Laila Jesmin.

ACC officials have informed that investigation is underway on Abu Hena Md. Rahmatul Muneem and his wife over allegations of financial rackets, irregularities, graft, abusing power and amassing illegal wealth. Under these circumstances, these individuals can't be allowed to travel overseas, ACC investigators have told reporters.
