DUCSU election commission formed

A 10-member Dhaka University Central Students' Union (DUCSU) Election Commission has been formed with Professor Dr. Mohammad Jasim Uddin of Botany Department as the Chief Returning Officer.

The committee was formed on Monday at a meeting of the university syndicate, a DU press release said.

The other members of the Election Commission are Professor Dr. ASM Mohiuddin of the Department of Soil, Water and Environment, Professor Dr. Golam Rabbani of the Institute of Social Welfare and Research, Professor Dr. Kazi Maruful Islam of the Department of Development Studies, Professor Dr. Kazi Mostaq Ghausul Haque of the Department of Information Science and Library Management and Sharmin Kabir of the Institute of Education and Research.

The returning officers will accomplish the election related tasks through discussion with the vice chancellor.

The numbers of returning officers has been increased to 10 from six to ensure a transparent and acceptable DUCSU election, the release said.
