A daylong science and technology fair was held on Thursday in Dinajpur with the theme of "We will win in knowledge and science, we will be the best in the world." Deputy Commissioner (DC) Md Rafiqul Islam inaugurated the fair at Saint Joseph School premises yesterday as the chief guest.
Speaking the occasion, DC Rafiqul Islam said, "Today's students are country's future. We have to develop ourselves as good human beings. We have to build a drug-free society. We have to build an enlightened life. We have to respect our parents."
"We now get all kinds of information sitting at home. All this has happened only through science and technology", he said. He urged the students to read the books thoroughly and keep themselves away from drugs. Saint Joseph School former headmistress Sister Helen Gomez and current headmaster Sister Rosy Mumur were present at the program.
A total of 206 stalls have been set up in the fair where students from various institutions of the district brought their science-based displays. The invited guests visited the stalls of this fair. In addition, there are various events during the fair, including debate competitions, science Olympiads, science-based quiz competitions, and prize distribution.
