As many as 204 new patients have been hospitalised with dengue fever while no fatalities were reported from the Aedes mosquito-borne disease across Bangladesh over the past 24 hours. With the latest cases, the total number of dengue hospitalisations this year has risen to 11,660.
According to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), Barishal division reported the highest number of new hospital admissions in the 24 hours leading up to Friday, with 101 patients, bdnews24 reports.
In addition, 57 patients have been admitted in the two city corporations of Dhaka, 22 in the Dhaka Division, five in Mymensingh, nine in Chattogram, and 10 in Rajshashi. As many as 1,279 patients are currently undergoing treatment for dengue in hospitals across the country. Of them, 351 were hospitalised in the capital with 928 across the rest of the country.
In 2024, a total of 101,214 patients were hospitalised due to dengue nationwide, with 575 fatalities reported.
