He was trying to enter a Rohingya refugee camp wearing a black hijab, socks on his hands and feet, and a burqa. He was caught by the police and was found to be a man. He was caught while trying to escape surveillance and enter the camp again. The incident took place at the Shalbagan police checkpoint in Hnila, Teknaf on Wednesday (july 23) night. He wanted to enter the Rohingya refugee camp disguised as a woman. However, the police stopped him and questioned him when they became suspicious of his behavior. At one stage, his real identity was revealed when he took off his burqa. The accused, Rashid Ahmed (27), is the son of Farid Ahmed of Rohingya refugee camp number 26 in Hnila, Teknaf, Cox's Bazar. Police said that the Rohingya youth is believed to have left the refugee camp and committed some criminal activity. For this reason, he escaped from the shelter camp by evading the law enforcement agencies. He tried to enter the shelter camp again by wearing a disguise. Teknaf Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Muhammad Gias Uddin said that a young man wearing a burqa was walking past the checkpoint. When his movements became suspicious, he was questioned. He could not answer any questions properly. He was later detained.
