Specialist physicians and paramedics from India have been consulting with local doctors and the Bangladesh government high-ups for last few days for proper healthcare services to cure the injured victims of the recent aircraft crash at a school in Dhaka city. -AA
While speaking to Bangladesh's Chief Adviser Dr. Mohammad Yunus, the Indian medical team said on Sunday that they have come to Dhaka in response to the offer of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to provide all possible assistance to Bangladesh for the speedy recovery of the victims of the jet crash that killed and wounded a broad number of students in Milestone School a few days ago.
India is prepared to extend any further support or cooperation that Bangladesh may require in terms of medical equipment or healthcare services for the injured victims in this accident. If any patient needs further medical treatment in India, the Indian authorities can make quick arrangements, said the chief physician of the Indian medical team. The Indian doctors expressed satisfaction with the arrangements at the Burn Institute and the approach adopted by the Bangladesh doctors, nurses and officials.
The Indian medical team in Dhaka includes two burn specialist doctors and two paramedics from RML Hospital and Safdarjung Hospital, two of the best institutions in India that specialize in burn rehabilitation and plastic surgery. The Indian doctors and nurses arrived in Dhaka on Wednesday, July 23 and completed four rounds of consultations at the National Institute of Burns and Plastic Surgery. The Indian medical team will fly back to India on Monday after the final stage of examining the progress of the critically wounded patients.
It is very much noteworthy that a fighter jet belonging to Bangladesh Air Force crashed into Milestone School in Uttara, Dhaka city killing 33 students, including two teachers on 21 July 2025.
