Discussion Held at JnU on 'July Revolution and an Inequality-Free Bangladesh'

A discussion and award-giving ceremony titled "July Revolution and an Inequality-Free Bangladesh" was held at Jagannath University (JnU) on Sunday, July 27.

The event, organized by the Department of Islamic Studies, took place in Room 1107 of the university's Arts Building. It was part of the central program commemorating the anniversary of the July Revolution.

Professor Dr. Md. Mosharraf Hossain, President of the JnU Teachers’ Association, was present as the chief guest. In his remarks, he said, “People from all walks of life—including rickshaw pullers, laborers, and day-wage earners—sacrificed their lives in the July Revolution. Their sacrifice is unparalleled. We must rise above all divisions and unite in building a just and inequality-free Bangladesh.”

Professor Dr. Md. Sheikh Gias Uddin, Acting Registrar of the university, attended as the special guest. The discussion was presided over by Professor Dr. Md. Rois Uddin, Chairperson of the Department of Islamic Studies and General Secretary of the JnU Teachers’ Association.

In his presidential speech, Dr. Rois Uddin stated, “It is through the sacrifices of those who were martyred or injured during the July Revolution that we have reclaimed our freedom of speech and identity. The nation will never forget this history.”

The event was coordinated by Professor Dr. Muhammad Nurullah, while Assistant Professor Mr. Muhammad Kamrul Islam moderated the session. Teachers and students from various departments of the university were present at the event.
