Shoe thrown at ACC Chief in Bogura

 
An elderly man threw his shoe at Chairman of Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) Dr. Mohammad Abdul Momen while a public hearing was going on at Bogura on Sunday. The senior citizen pelted his shoe to Dr. Mohammad Abdul Momen over complaints that his point was not accepted at the mass hearing assembly.

It happened at Titu Auditorium in Bogura city on Sunday noon. The shoe did not hit the target though. The thrown shoe fell on the stage without hitting anyone. The elderly man who did this thing was forced to leave the venue but he was taken back into the program under directives from ACC Chairman Dr. Mohammad Abdul Momen.

Bogura Sadar Police Station Officer-in-Charge Hasan Basir said that the guy who threw the shoe at ACC Chairman was a fisherman named Sakhawat Hossain Mandal (65). Reports have surfaced that earlier on Sakhawat Hossain Mandal visited different places including police stations, Home Ministry and local administrative offices with certain allegations but nobody listened to him. This denial and non-cooperation from government offices made Sakhawat Hossain Mandal furious and persuaded him to throw his shoe at the top ACC functionary.

Sakhawat Hossain Mandal told reporters that he is prepared to go to jail for throwing shoes at the ACC Chairman. Journalists asked ACC boss Dr. Mohammad Abdul Momen about the humiliating occurrence but the ACC Chairman did not give any answer to this question.
