Netrokona, a land of folk culture and literature, is known for its natural beauty and vibrant cultural heritage. At the foot of the china clay hill, beside the bank of Kangsha Magra Sumeshwari Rivers, adorned with green and Haur Baor, rich in natural resources describe the beautiful city Netrakona.

In 1984, Netrokona began its journey with 10 upazilas. Although initially part of Dhaka Division, it is currently one of the districts of Mymensingh Division.  There are various natural and historical attractions spread across each upazila of this district. Let's know about some of the beautiful places of Netrakona- Durgapur: Susang Durgapur is the name of a new chapter for tourism. The famous hill surrounded by colorful natural China clay near Netrokona town is known as Susang Durgapur. This is called the lung of ceramic industry in the country. Bijoypur Clay Hill and Blue Lake: The most attractive place in Durgapur is Bijoypur Clay Hill, locally known as White Hills. The white clay hills here and the blue-green water lake next to them create a surreal scene. The reflection of the mountains in the clear water and the greenery are like a painting by an artist. 

This scene is so captivating that you will feel like you are standing in front of a painting painted on the canvas of an artist. Someshwari River: Someshwari River, which descends from the Garo Hills of Meghalaya, India, is the lifeblood of Durgapur. Its clear and blue waters fascinate tourists during the rainy season. The gateway to the same freshwater Samudra Haor is Mohanganj, where there is a tourist center. Walking along the river or taking a boat ride can be a great experience for you. Tribal Cultural Academy Durgapur is home to various tribal communities including Garo, Hajong, Koch. You can visit the Tribal Cultural Academy to learn about their culture, tradition and lifestyle. 

Kalmakanda: The enchanting touch of the border hills: Kalmakanda Upazila, located on the Indian border with Meghalaya, is known for its mountainous beauty and serene nature. Chandradinga Hill: Chandradinga Hill, located in the border area, is a charming travel destination. The picturesque view from the top of the hill here will fascinate you. Panchgaon is a hill village located in Rangchati Union of Panchgaon Kalmakanda. 

When you enter here, you will feel as if a piece of Meghalaya has come and mixed with the soil of Bangladesh. The peaceful environment and natural beauty here refreshes the mind. 

Seven Martyrs' Shrine: The Seven Martyrs' Shrine, built in memory of the seven brave freedom fighters who were martyred in the 1971 Liberation War, reminds us of a painful chapter in history.

Mohanganj: The gateway to the Haor region is the freshwater sea, which is called the most prosperous upazila, the enchanting beauty and the glory of cultural personalities. Netrakona's Mohanganj upazila is covered in a vast area of haor, which takes on a different form during the rainy season. Mohanganj, Khaliajuri and Madan upazilas are the main attractions of this haor region.
