P.D. Singh, CEO of India & South Asia, SCB visits Bangladesh

P.D. Singh, ChiefExecutive Officer – India & South, Standard Chartered Bank recently visitedBangladesh. P.D. Singh was appointed as Standard Chartered’s CEO for India& South Asia in April 2025 and oversees the Bank’s operations across SouthAsia – encompassing key markets such as India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and Nepal.

Prior to StandardChartered, P.D. Singh was the CEO of JP Morgan Chase Bank in India, where heplayed a pivotal role in shaping the bank’s corporate banking franchise as afounding member. Under his leadership, the bank won multiple industry awardsand recognition for outstanding performance. Before JP Morgan, P.D. Singh wasat HSBC, where he spent a decade covering leadership roles across corporate andcommercial banking. A double MBA with an engineering degree, he has made animpactful contribution to the financial sector.

During the visit, P.D.Singh met with a range of key stakeholders, including key regulators and clientsduring 1 – on – 1 meetings and various engagement events; top business andcorporate leaders; heads of various chambers, economists, heads of multilaterals;and Standard Chartered Bangladesh colleagues. He exchanged views on thepotential of Bangladesh and its journey of development and prosperity andcontributing to the growth of the dynamic South Asia region; and reiterated StandardChartered’s commitment towards our stakeholders and to translate the potentialto ultimate success.
