We are  modernizing Ansar-VDP to rebuild new Bangladesh: DG

Director General of Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defence Party (VDP) Major General Abdul Motaleb Sajjad Mahmud has said that the officers and troops of Ansar-VDP are being further modernized in order to rebuild the new Bangladesh which was created through the glorious July Revolution 2024.

Major General Abdul Motaleb Sajjad Mahmud came up with the above statement on Saturday (23 August 2025) while addressing a program at Ansar-VDP Academy in Shafipur under Gazipur district. Major General Abdul Motaleb Sajjad Mahmud recalled that Ansar-VDP was founded in 1948 and this force played significant roles in the Language Movement of 1952 and the Liberation War of 1971.

Abdul Motaleb Sajjad Mahmud affirmed that Ansar-VDP personnel have been working tirelessly for ensuring safety for government organizations as well as autonomous and private offices and keeping up law and order across Bangladesh round the clock. Ansar-VDP members are working for human resources development too, the Director General further said. Ansar-VDP officers and troops have been always on high alert to terminate militancy and other social ailments, Major General Abdul Motaleb Sajjad Mahmud stated.

Ansar-VDP Additional Director General Brigadier General Fida Mahmud, Deputy Director General (Training) Md. Rafiqul Islam, Ansar-VDP Academy Commandant Mohammad Nurul Absar spoke on the occasion among some other senior officers.
