With the much-anticipated Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) election is all set to be held on October 6, several notable candidates collected their nomination forms at the Sher-e-Bangla Stadium.

The nomination forms were distributed from 10 AM to 5 PM for director positions on Saturday.

Among them, former BCB director Iftekhar Rahman Mithu and former national team wicketkeeper-batter Khaled Mashud Pilot collected forms. Pilot collected his nomination under Category-1. Meanwhile, Tamim Iqbal, one of Bangladesh's most celebrated captains and batters, has officially stepped into the fray by collecting his nomination from Old DOHS under Club Category-2. In Category-3, Debabrata Pal from Jahangirnagar University and Sirajuddin Mohammad Alamgir from Chittagong University collected their forms, while former cricketer Zulfikar Ali Khan submitted his form from Khulna District Sports Association.

From Khulna Division, Abdur Razzak has become a councillor and collected his nomination under Category-1 after stepping down from the Bangladesh men's team selection panel.

According to the election schedule, candidates must submit their nomination papers by September 28.
Meanwhile, the current BCB president, Aminul Islam Bulbul has also collected his nomination from Dhaka Division and Nazmul Abedin Fahim has submitted his nomination.

Earlier, The Election Commission has released the final voter list on Friday for the upcoming election of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB).
 A total of 191 councilors have been included in the final voter list. The much-anticipated BCB election will be held on October 6.

Although not in the initial list, councilors from 15 clubs in Dhaka have made it to the final list. Current BCB Media and Communication Committee Chairman Iftekhar Rahman Mithu has become a councilor from Vikings Academy.

The three-member Election Commission led by Chief Election Commissioner Mohammod Hossain held a virtual meeting today after which the final voter list was released.

The clubs that have regained their councillorship are Exum Cricketers, Dhaka Cricket Academy, Mohammad Cricket Club, Nawabganj Cricket Coaching Academy, Purbachal Sporting Club, Gulshan Cricket Club, Old Dhaka Cricketers, Vikings Cricket Academy, Banani Cricket Club, Nakhalpara Cricketers, Mohakhali Cricket Academy, Dhanmondi Cricket Club, Pacific Cricket Club, Sapphire Sporting Club and Alpha Sporting Club.
In addition, councillorship of five districts-- Sylhet, Bogura, Pabna, Sirajganj and Naogaon has also been approved.

Mohammad Rubayed Haque was named the councilor of Naogaon while Md. Rakibul Islam was confirmed from Bogura, Md. Tawhid Tariq Khan and Md. Abdullah Al Mamun were named from Pabna and Sirajganj respectively and Syed Fazle Elahi was confirmed as Sylhet councilor.

 However, no councilor has been assigned from Narsingdi district. Narsingdi's name was also excluded in the draft list published on September 23.
Withdrawal of candidacy will be allowed until October 1, when the final candidate list will be published at 2 PM.

The election will take place on October 6 at a Dhaka hotel from 10 AM to 4 PM, with results to be announced the same evening at 6 PM. The election of the president and vice-presidents will follow at 7:30 PM.
