Two former Awami League MPs arrested
 
Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has arrested two former Members of Parliament (MPs) belonging to banned outfit Awami League who are Foyzur Rahman and Tamanna Nusrat Bubly.

Foyzur Rahman was elected from Brahmanbaria-5 constituency while Tamanna Nusrat Bubly held a reserved women seat in Parliament. Police personnel arrested Tamanna Nusrat Bubly from Mohammadpur on Monday morning while Foyzur Rahman was arrested from Nikunja residential area on Sunday night at 10:15 pm.

Some more leaders and activists of outlawed political party Awami League and its affiliated units have been in the meantime arrested who are Moniqurur Rahman (35), Abdur Razzaque Shakil (59), Alam Matbar (58), Saiful Islam (37), Md. Moksed (39), Kayem Hossain (41), Riazuddin Ahmed Manik (50), Nazrul Islam Suman (37), Ebadul Haque Sabuj (35), Mahbubul Haque Heerok (60) and Abiruzzaman alias Abir (25).

Hundreds of Awami League MPs, leaders, activists as well as government officials loyal to Awami League have been arrested since 5 August 2024 when Awami League was ousted through the July Revolution and former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina escaped to India on the same day. Law and order forces are still raiding different places across Bangladesh in search of absconding Awami League stalwarts.
