Practical skills, modern knowledge key to progress: Land Secy

Land Ministry Senior Secretary ASM Saleh Ahmed on Tuesday said traditional knowledge alone is not enough to achieve progress, rather a combination of practical skills and modern knowledge act as the main tool for attaining growth..

"The current world is changing rapidly due to technological advancement and global competition," he said while addressing a training on developing skills in conducting audits at the Bhumi Bhaban meeting room in the city.

Ahmed said audit is one of the most important activities to ensure the financial and administrative discipline of an organization. Through this, transparency, accountability and good governance of the management process are established, he added, reports BSS.

However, he said, to conduct an audit effectively, not only theoretical knowledge is required, but also skills and modern strategic knowledge are needed.

The senior secretary said, in the digital age, technologies such as artificial intelligence, block chain, cloud computing, are being incorporated in conducting audits. "If we acquire skills in using these, the audit process will be fast, accurate and risk-free. Training is essential to increase skills. One thing to remember is that there is no concession against corruption," Ahmed added.
