Masud Kamal wants Advisers' passports seized before they quit

Noted political analyst and senior journalist Masud Kamal has said that the passports of all Advisers of the Bangladesh interim government should be seized before they quit power. Masud Kamal further said that grievous allegations of corruption, nepotism and abusing power have glared up about most of the Advisers. Their passports should be confiscated for the sake of neutral inquiries about the allegations which have surfaced about the Advisers, Masud Kamal stated.

Masud Kamal made the above comments on Sunday (5 October 2025) while speaking on his own YouTube channel. Masud Kamal referred to a particular corruption complaint which describes that 80 crore taka was staked for the appointment of an official in the top post of a government organization which was reported by daily Bengali newspaper Manab Zameen. Even Chief Adviser Dr. Muhammad Yunus's name was affiliated with this alleged scam and the name of the Chief Adviser's official residence State Guest House Jamuna also has been reported in this allegation, Masud Kamal said. According to Masud Kamal, this is a sign of the nosedive in moral values and the dissolution of ethical dictums in the country. He wondered whether Dr. Muhammad Yunus is aware of these corruption reports. These allegations are now being discussed from tea stalls up to higher places.

However, Masud Kamal informed that the official concerned did not consent to join the above top position thinking about its outcome. Masud Kamal said "The people who came to power after the July Uprising later on became controversial for different reasons. That's why all allegations about them must be thoroughly investigated and for the same reason they must be prevented from travelling overseas. Seizing their passports is vital on this particular ground."
