Health Secretary inaugurates eye and diabetes camp at DRU
Health Services Secretary Md. Saidur Rahman inaugurated an eye and diabetes camp at Dhaka Reporters Unity- DRU in the capital on Monday.
The program was organized jointly by Lions Club of Dhaka Ideal and Lions Club of Dhaka Gigants.
Speaking at the event as chief guest, the Health Secretary said, there is a weakness in primary healthcare in the urban areas of the country and the government is working to overcome it.
He praised the important role of NGO's at health services sector and further said that it is not possible for the government alone to do everything to ensure healthcare of this giant populated country.
At that time, members of the DRU demanded a separate community clinic for their organization and desired to sign an agreement with Bangladesh Medical University or any government hospital to ensure health services of the journalist community.
The event was moderated by DRU Secretary Mainul Hasan Sohel and presided over by the organization's President.
Lions Club of Dhaka Ideal Director Nawjat Sarwat Islam, Lions Club of Dhaka Gigants President Md. Riasat Islam, DRU's senior member Ajmal Haque Helal, Women's Secretary Rozina Rozi, among others, were present.
