Not only the villagers, but also people accustomed to the modern lifestyle of the urban areas are fans of his songs. He is also quite adept at singing Maljora. Thousands of listeners come to hear him coming to the music hall. In addition, many of the songs written by him are performed on radio and television by popular and renowned musicians of the new generation.

Recently, when I visited Baul Samrat Salam's house, I saw the musician lying in bed. There was a harmonium, a violin, and a diary of numerous songs lying next to the bed.

During the conversation, Baul Salam Sarkar said, "I have broken my leg twice. I have been undergoing treatment for two years. I am still bedridden, no one is looking after me now. I am living with the love of people. So I want to return to singing. I hope I can recover quickly and walk with you again."

Salam Sarkar's wife, Shamsunnahar Begum, said, "My husband's right leg got stuck in a tree root and broke it. He was treated in Dhaka.  Later, due to lack of money, he had to be treated in Mymensingh.

But due to lack of money, an artist is struggling without treatment and is struggling to run a family with three sons."
