First Executive Committee Meeting of Bangladesh Pencak Silat Association Held
The first executive committee meeting of the Bangladesh Pencak Silat Association was held on 18 October 2025 at 7:30 PM at the Founders’ Community Club Limited in Uttara, Dhaka.
During the meeting, various strategies and future plans were discussed to make the sport Pencak Silat more popular across Bangladesh. It was decided that a two-day seminar will soon be organized to enhance the skills of local players through advanced training under the supervision of a foreign coach.
The meeting was presided over by the association’s president, Mr. Nur Islam Babu. Babu said,
> “Although Pencak Silat is still a new sport in Bangladesh, it is rapidly gaining popularity among the youth. Our goal is to expand this sport to every district of the country and to develop skilled players who can represent Bangladesh at the international level. This is the mission our organization is working toward.”
The meeting was attended by General Secretary Syed Ruknuzzaman Rony, Rezaul Karim Mashum, Rezoanul Khan, Najmus Sakib, Md. Habib, Tanvir Ahmed Shams, Shahriar Rakib, Khalid Saifullah, and other ec members of the association.
