Chhatra Dal leader found dead in JU

The blood-stained dead body of Zubair Hossain, a leader of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) in Jagannath University was found dead on Sunday (19 October 2025). Police force recovered the corpse in the capital's Armanitola area yesterday.

Zubair Hossain belongs to 2019-2020 academic session in Jagannath University at Department of Statistics. He hails from Cumilla district. He was a member of the convener committee of Chhatra Dal in Jagannath University. Local inhabitants have said that Zubair Hossain's dead body was lying on the stairs of a house in Panir Pump lane at Armanitola. Reportedly Zubair Hossain had a private teaching job in that house.

Officer-in-Charge of Bongshal Police Station Rafiqul Islam has confirmed the death of Zubair Hossain. OC Rafiqul Islam further said that cops have started investigating the occurrence.

Jagannath University Proctor Professor Dr. Muhammad Tazammul Haque told journalists that he was aware of Zubair Hossain's death. Professor Dr. Muhammad Tazammul Haque stated that he has asked Police Department to take necessary steps immediately.
