Evercare Hospital Chattogram Launches Free Breast Health Checkup Program
In recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Evercare Hospital Chattogram is taking a proactive step to safeguard women’s health by launching a free breast health checkup program. The initiative will run until 31st October 2025, daily between 11:00 AM and 1:00 PM.
Breast cancer remains a leading health concern for women, and early detection is key to saving lives. Through this campaign, women can receive free breast health check-ups at the hospital’s dedicated Breast Health Assessment Room. Each participant will also benefit from an expert consultation, a personalized risk assessment, and guidance on further treatment pathways if needed.
Prof. Dr Sajjad Mohammad Yusuff, Visiting Senior Consultant in the Department of Medical and Radiation Oncology at Evercare Hospital Chattogram, emphasized the importance of awareness, stating, “Breast cancer is a disease that can often be detected by women themselves at an early stage by Breast Self-Examination. When identified early, it is highly treatable. Therefore, it is essential to raise awareness across both public and private sectors and to stand by breast cancer patients. Screening systems in hospitals should be further strengthened so that any signs can be promptly investigated under medical supervision, ensuring patients receive comprehensive care. We must remember that when our mothers and sisters are healthy, we too will be healthy—and only then can a truly healthy society be built.”
According to hospital experts, over twelve to fourteen thousand women in Bangladesh are diagnosed with breast cancer each year. A significant concern is that many begin treatment only at advanced stages of the disease. Raising awareness and promoting early screening are crucial to changing this trend and saving lives.
