Three women arrested with revolver, bullets in Cumilla


In a joint forces drive, Army personnel and police arrested four people including a woman on charge of carrying out assault and vandalism during a clash between two groups in Titas of Cumilla on Saturday night. 

During the drive, the police personnel seized a foreign revolver, 6 rounds bullets, on LG gun, 2 pipe guns, 10 cartridges and three sharp weapons from their possession. 

The arrestees have been identified as Farzana (29), wife of Nazrul Islam of Shahpur village, Amina (37), wife of Jashim and Zubeda (33), wife of Zahir.

According to police sources, a police team led by Khaled Saifullah, officer-in-charge (OC) of Titas police station, conducted a raid on the house of Nazrul Islam in Shahpur village at around 12:30 am on Saturday. At that time, they arrested three women and recovered 1 foreign revolver, 6 rounds of bullets, 1 LG gun and 2 pipe guns.

OC Khaled Saifullah said, "A case has been filed against the arrestees under the Arms Act. They have been sent to the Cumilla court on Sunday afternoon."
