NARS Scientists Association of Bangladesh Launched
The NARS Scientists Association of Bangladesh was formally launched through a general meeting held at the Bangladesh Agricultural Research Council (BARC) auditorium on 28 October 2025. Scientists from nine agricultural research institutes across the country took part in the event.

The association unites scientists from 15 institutions under the National Agricultural Research System (NARS), including BARC, BARI, BRRI, BJRI, BINA, BSRI, BWMRI, SRDI, FRI, BLRI, BFRI, BTRI, BSRTI, CDB and BIRTAN.

The meeting was presided over by Dr. Md. Shaifullah, Member Director of BARC, with Dr. Md. Abdus Salam, Member Director of BARC, as the Chief Guest. Dr. Md. Al-Mamun, PSO, BJRI, conducted the session.

In his welcome remarks, Dr. Md. Mosiur Rahman, CSO, BARI, thanked the participating scientists for their active involvement.

During the discussion, scientists presented various proposals and demands aimed at strengthening agricultural research and ensuring the professional development of researchers.

It was decided that a memorandum outlining the scientists’ demands would be submitted to the National Pay Commission on 30 October 2025. The participants expressed their determination to collaborate on advancing agricultural research and promoting the welfare of scientists in Bangladesh.
