Terming National Citizens' Party (NCP) a platform with ideologies different from traditional politics, NCP Joint Convener Mowlana Ashraf Uddin Mahdi Azhari said that the main goal of his party is to fulfill long-cherished aspirations of the people of Bangladesh.
While talking to journalists at Sarail Reporters Unity on Saturday, Mowlana Ashraf Mahdi, probable NCP candidate with 'Shapla Koli' symbol from Brahmanbaria-2 constituency in the upcoming parliamentary polls announced to be held early February next, said, "I have a long-cherished dream of serving the development-deprived people in Sarail and Ashuganj upazilas as my maternal grandfather late Mufti Fazlul Haque Amini was an elected Member of Parliament (MP) from the constituency."
"People in Brahmanbaria-2 constituency still appreciate the works of Late Mufti Amini as he was an honest politician. I will try to complete the unfinished job of Late Mufti Amini," he added. Mowlana Ashraf Mahdi said,
"NCP has been working to establish voting rights of people ignoring greed for power and money. Our party, at the moment, has no plan to join any alliance."
"I have as far as visited remote neglected areas of Sarail and Ashuganj upazilas and tried to hear aspirations of common people. NCP will announce its election manifesto based on the aspirations of people," he said.
Mowlana Ashraf Mahdi assured of make Brahmanbaria-2 constituency a role model of development if he is elected.
Sarail Upazila NCP's chief coordinator Md Mobarak Hossain, joint coordinators Azizul Haque, Riadul Islam, members Mostafijur Rahman Tamim, Durjoy Mahmud, Brahmanbaria District Chhatra Shakti representatives Mofassil Islam Rohan, Ariful Mostafa Niloy were present at the time, among others.
