Kaliganga River bridge opened in Manikganj


A 297 meter bridge on the Kaliganga river in the district was opened overnight for traffic to connect the district headquarter with Harirampur upazila.  State Minister for Health and Family Welfare Zahid Malek Swapon, who represents the constituency as lawmaker in the Jatiya Sangsad opened the bridge at the Beuthaghat area last night.
 
Local Government Engineering Department (LGED) constructed the bridge at a cost of Taka 38, 78, 47,174.  The opening ceremony was marked by a public meeting at the site which was presided over by deputy commissioner Rashida Ferdouse and addressed, among others, by district Awami League (AL) president and district administrator Advocate Golam Mohiuddin, Mayor of Manikganj Gazi Quamrul Huda Selim, former mayor Md. Ramjan Ali, public prosecutor (PP) and General Secretary of Manikganj District Awami League Advocate Abdus Salam and senior officials of the district. Local Government Engineering Department (LGED) Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development completed the construction work of the bridge at a cost of Taka 38,78,47,174.
