3 members of gold fraud gang arrested in Rajshahi

Rajshahi Metropolitan Police (RMP) detective branch have arrested 3 members of gold fraud gang in Rajshahi.

The accused have been duping innocent passengers for long by presenting the gold colored metal B as genuine gold. The arrestees are Md. Hiru (45), Md. Feroz (41) and Abul Kashem (59). Efforts are on to nab the other three absconding accused.

Through a press release on Sunday, RMP Media Yung informed that a raid team of DB Police under the leadership of SI Md Tauhidul Islam was doing check post duty under the flyover on Saturday, November 15 afternoon. At 6.30 pm that day, the suspected
auto-rickshaw was stopped and searched.

A bag was recovered from Hiru's jacket pocket during the raid. Inside her bag was a golden
colored metal letter and a pad with Sri Jewelers
written on it. When Hiru and Feroze were questioned about this, they failed to give any correct
information. Later, DB police arrested them along with the seized goods. 

During the interrogation of the police, the arrested accused Hiroo and Feroze said that they had planned to throw the bag on the road. Later, the accomplices used to lift it up and open it in front of the passenger and try to sell it as gold. This gang has been deceiving innocent passengers for a long time by presenting the gold colored metal B as real gold.

RMP (Media) Deputy Commissioner of Police Gaziur Rahman confirmed that a regular case has been filed against the arrested in Rajpara Police Station and they have been sent to jail through the learned court.
