DRU Media Cricket to begin on November 18

 'Fortune Barisal-DRU Media Cricket-2025' is all set to start under the auspices of Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU) and Fortune Barisal.
The tournament will be inaugurated on Tuesday, November 18 at Maulana Bhashani Hockey Stadium.

48 media houses will take part in this edition. 48 teams will play in 8 groups in a knockout format. The champion team of each group will advance to the quarterfinals. DRU Sports Secretary Md. Mojibur Rahman gave this information at a press conference organized on the occasion of the tournament at DRU's Shafiqul Kabir Auditorium on Saturday.

DRU President Abu Saleh Akon presided over the welcome speech and the organization's General Secretary Mainul Hasan Sohel delivered the welcome speech.

DRU President Abu Saleh Akon said, "We have organized the cricket tournament keeping the members in mind despite various adversities. We will try to bring everyone together and complete the tournament in a festive atmosphere." DRU General Secretary Mainul Hasan Sohel said, "We are organizing this grand tournament on the cricket field.

We hope everyone will participate in this joyful event on the cricket field. He expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the sponsor of this tournament, Fortune Barisal. Present at the time were DRU Executive Committee Finance Secretary Sakhawat Hossain Sumon, Hospitality Secretary Mohammad Salim Ullah (Mejbah), Welfare Secretary Rafiq Mridha, Executive Members Aminul Haque Bhuiyan and Sumon Chowdhury.

It is to be noted that the grouping draw of the tournament will be held tomorrow, Sunday (November 16, 2025) at 11 am at the DRU canteen. A representative of each participating team has been invited to attend.
