Pakistan High Commissioner to Bangladesh Imran Haider on Wednesday paid a courtesy call on Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives and Youth and Sports Adviser Asif Mahmud Shojib Bhuyain at the letter's office at the Bangladesh Secretariat here.
During the meeting, various priority issues, including youth and cultural exchange programmes, youth development training, agricultural research, employment, sports, youth leadership and personality development activities were discussed.
At the onset of the meeting, Asif Mahmud welcomed the Pakistani High Commissioner and expressed interest in enhancing bilateral relations between the two countries as well as strengthening cooperation on multilateral platforms.
He stressed organising more bilateral exchange programmes and training programmes for the development of youth and sports sectors.
Asif Mahmud said there is no alternative to skill development and training of the youth and stressed organising bilateral series in cricket and football.
The Pakistan envoy said at present, the youth, sports and cultural relations of Bangladesh with the Pakistani government have increased.
He hoped that this relationship would continue in the future.
The High Commissioner also assured Bangladesh of all-out cooperation in sports expert and knowledge exchange programmes and youth
development and employment. Later, the adviser held a meeting with UNDP Resident Representative in Bangladesh
Stephan Liler.
The Secretary of the Local Government Division, the Secretary of the Ministry of Youth and Sports and other senior officials were present in the meetings.
