Titas Gas Nationalist Workers' Union oath-taking ceremony held

The inauguration and oath-taking ceremony of the Titas Gas Nationalist Workers' and Employees' Union (CBA), 2025, was held on 24 November 2025 at the auditorium of the company's head office.

Nazrul Islam Khan, Member of the National Standing Committee of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), attended the event as the Chief Guest. 
Advocate Shamsur Rahman Shimul Biswas, Chief Coordinator of the Bangladesh Nationalist Workers' Party, was present as the Keynote Speaker. 

Special guests included Mr. Saiful Alam Nirab, BNP-nominated candidate for the Dhaka-12 parliamentary constituency; Engr. Shahnewaz Parvez, Managing Director of Titas Gas Transmission and Distribution PLC; and Khandaker Zulfiqar Matin, President of the Titas Gas Nationalist Workers' and Employees' Union (CBA). Leaders of the national and local units of the Workers' Party were also present.

Khandaker Zulfiqar Matin, President of the Titas Gas Nationalist Workers' and Employees' Union, formally opened the session by thanking all attendees. 

He highlighted various initiatives undertaken to reduce system loss at Titas Gas and expressed a commitment to maintaining a productive and cooperative workplace environment.

Engr. Shahnewaz Parvez, Managing Director of Titas Gas Transmission and Distribution PLC, congratulated the newly elected CBA committee. He emphasized Titas Gas's significant contributions as the country's largest gas supplier in the energy sector. He further stressed the need for strict action against illegal gas connections as part of continued efforts to reduce system loss. 

He also commended the longstanding positive labour-management relationship within Titas and reaffirmed his commitment to strengthening this relationship further.

In his speech, Chief Guest Nazrul Islam Khan, Member of the BNP's National Standing Committee, thanked everyone present and recalled the distinguished history of Titas Gas. He underscored the importance of enhancing the company's reputation as one of the key institutions in the energy sector.

Finally, Khandaker Zulfiqar Matin, President of the Titas Gas Nationalist Workers' and Employees' Union, once again expressed his gratitude to all participants and declared the ceremony closed.
