Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has given final approval to the nomination of Quamruzzaman Ratan to contest the upcoming elections from Munshiganj-3 constituency. Quamruzzaman Ratan is BNP's Central Social Welfare Affairs Secretary.
BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir officially announced Quamruzzaman Ratan's name for the Munshiganj 3 constituency while addressing a press conference at the BNP Gulshan office on Thursday (4 December 2025).
Quamruzzaman Ratan's supporters have told journalists that Quamruzzaman Ratan has been nominated on the basis of his dedication and acceptability among BNP leaders and activists. Quamruzzaman Ratan has said that he has been always as a politician for the betterment of people from all walks of life. His responsibility rises through being nominated for the next polls, Quamruzzaman Ratan further said. He expressed his determination to build up a beautiful, safe and sound society in his electoral area free of narcotics and other forms of criminal activities if he is elected. Quamruzzaman Ratan stated that his prayers are always there for the speedy recovery of BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia. Quamruzzaman Ratan's followers in Munshiganj have expressed gratitude to Allah Almighty after he was nominated. It may be recalled that Quamruzzaman Ratan, when he was a student, vehemently fought on the frontline during the Anti-Autocratic Movement in 1990. During the ousted ruling party Awami League regime from 2009 to 2024, Quamruzzaman Ratan was imprisoned several times for his unwavering love and consolidated devotion for BNP.
