Detective Branch (DB) police detained eight people during separate anti-narcotics drive in Naogaon district. Police detained a drug trader from Kabulpur village under Manda police station in the district on Saturday night. The arrestee was identified as Sujan, 40, son of late Taher of Chak Sadasib village under Niamat police station.
Later, the police conducted a raid at Shafin filling station under Naogaon municipality area at around 10:10pm and nabbed two people with 15 yaba pills. The detainees were identified as Foysal, 27, son of Abdul Malek of Hazipara of Naogaon and Tarikul, 36, son of late Asir of Bhagbanpur village under Badalgachhi police station.
On the same day, the DB police conducted a raid at a hotel in Dhaka Bus Stand of Naogaon municipal area and detained five people with 60 pieces of yaba pills. The detainees were identified as Abu Sayeed, 31, son of Shahadat Hossain of Shingbacha police station, Sohel, 32, son of Shariful Mondal of Sarispur police station, Prokash Raj Bongshi, 32, son of Bijoy Raj Bongshi of Patila Para under Saturia police station, Jakir, 32, son of Abdur Razzaque of Chak Prasad police station and Ripon, son of Harun-or-Rashid of Chak Prasad police station. According to the police, cases have been filed against the detainees in this regard.
