BDCricTime’s achievement of reaching 10 million followers on Facebook marks a significant moment in Bangladesh’s evolving digital media landscape. The milestone was celebrated on December 17 at a renowned restaurant in Mirpur, where leading figures from cricket administration, former national team captains, journalists, and BDCricTime employees gathered to commemorate the occasion.

Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) President Aminul Islam Bulbul attended the event as chief guest, highlighting the growing importance of digital platforms in shaping cricket conversations. Former Bangladesh captains Khaled Mashud Pilot and Mohammad Ashraful were also present, lending prestige to the celebration.

Established in 2015, BDCricTime started as a modest social media initiative driven by a passion for cricket. Over time, the platform expanded its reach through consistent coverage, responsible reporting, and fan-centric content. Its journey mirrors the broader transformation of sports journalism in Bangladesh, where digital platforms now play a central role in engaging fans.

Addressing the audience, BCB President Aminul Islam Bulbul said, “Congratulations to BDCricTime on reaching 10 million followers. Starting from one and reaching ten million is not easy. Well done to the founder of this platform, Md. Jabed Ali. With this growth comes responsibility. Ten million viewers need to be guided towards understanding cricket in the right way.”

He further stressed the importance of positive storytelling in cricket media.

“I would request BDCricTime to continue portraying positive and objective news. Cricket culture in Bangladesh will depend greatly on platforms like yours. People’s mindset will be influenced by what you show and say. This should always be positive. Along with match news and achievements, grassroots cricket, women’s cricket, age-level cricket, and cricket education should also be highlighted.”

BCB Grounds Committee Chairman Khaled Mashud Pilot described BDCricTime’s success as inspirational.

“What BDCricTime has achieved is inspiring. Positive news, easy access to information, and consistency have helped the platform grow. I hope to see BDCricTime reach even bigger milestones—perhaps one billion followers—in the future.”

Founder and Editor-in-Chief Md Jabed Ali reflected on the journey with gratitude.

“The journey started with a simple passion for cricket. Reaching 10 million followers today is a blessing. This achievement belongs to our readers, viewers, and the entire team who have worked with honesty and commitment. We are grateful for the love and trust we have received over the years. We will continue to work responsibly and focus on positive, meaningful cricket content in the future.”

The program concluded with appreciation awards, a commemorative photo frame presentation, and a dinner.
