Land Ministry's Senior Secretary ASM Saleh Ahmed has said that land disputes are a long standing social problem in Bangladesh. So, survey and settlement can play a pivotal role to reduce land disputes.
He made the remarks at the Bhumi Bhaban central seminar hall in the capital's Tejgaon on Sunday while distributing certificates of 141th survey and settlement training course and addressing closing ceremony. The program was organized by the Land Records and Survey Department.
The Land Secretary further said that cases and violence are increasing day by day due to land disputes and which are hampering social stability and development activities.
If there is an accurate survey and correct records, land related cases will be reduced, he added.
Survey and settlement training has become more relevant to ensure digital land services. The use of modern technologies including GIS, GPS, drone survey and digital mapping can make officials efficiency through training, ASM Saleh Ahmed added further.
The event was presided over by the Land Records and Survey Department DG Md. Saidur Rahman and the welcome speech was delivered by the Land Records and Survey Department Director and course Director Md. Mominur Rashid.
Land Appeal Board Chairman Mohammad Yusuf, Land Reform Board Chairman AJM Salahuddin Nagari were present as special guests.
