Youths stressed to combat harmful  gender issues for better Bangladesh
The speakers came up with the remarksfor the youth for equality in order to change harmful gender stereotypes,preventing gender-based violence, together with empowering youth, especiallygirls and young women.

The invited guests delivered thespeech atan advocacy workshop titled ShamotayTarunno: Youth for Equality organizedby Jago Foundation Truston Sunday in the capital.

JAAGO Foundation Trust is anon-profit organization committed to eradicating poverty through education and otherstrategic campaigns across Bangladesh. With a vision to shape a future whereindividuals have access to equal rights and opportunities regardless of theirsocio-economic background.

ShomotayTarunno: Youth forEquality, supported by the Netherlands Embassy, focuses on empowering youth inBangladesh's eight divisions to challenge gender stereotypes and promotewomen's rights. The project includes conducting youth perception surveys, capacity-buildingsessions on media literacy, and advocacy initiatives.

Youth-led organizations are trainedto address gender issues, enhance digital safety, and engage in communityactions. Additionally, strategic partnerships with media and educational institutionsaim to foster positive gender narratives and implement gender-transformativecurriculum.

These efforts collectivelyenhance the youth's ability to influence societal norms and advocate for genderequality. In order to address negative stereotyping, this project‘ShomotayTarunno’ aims to enable young people in all their diversities.

The project will engage 13,515individuals as direct project participants. Of them- 12,690 youths of 252 localyouth-led organizations, 75 members of the National Youth Council, 350 localcontent creators &social media influencers, and 475 media professionals,education institute authorities, teachers and government officials.

In all their diversity, youngpeople are equipped to combat gender stereotypes and increase positive socialgender norms in society through enhanced inclusive, effective and meaningfulengagement in decision-making and activism.
