IFIC Bank Organizes Day-long Program on ‘Cashless Bangladesh Initiative’ in Jessore

Under the initiative of Bangladesh Bank, and with IFIC BankPLC as the lead bank, a series of day-long programs were organized in Jessoreto expand the activities of the “Cashless Bangladesh Initiative.” The event washeld on Tuesday, 23 December 2025, at the Jessore Software Technology Park,where Mr. Arif Hossain Khan, Executive Director of Bangladesh Bank, attended asthe Chief Guest.

The seminar was presided over by Ms. Rafeza Akhter Kanta,Director of the Payment Systems Department of Bangladesh Bank. Special guestsincluded Mr. Md. Rukunuzzaman, Executive Director, Khulna Office, BangladeshBank; Mr. Md. Tawmeed Hasan, Assistant Commissioner and Executive Magistrate, Jessore,representing the District Administration; and Mr. Syed Mansur Mustafa, ManagingDirector of IFIC Bank PLC.

The day’s program began with a public awareness rally.Following the rally, a special seminar on the “Cashless Bangladesh Initiative”was held at the auditorium of the Jessore Software Technology Park. During theseminar, the distinguished guests discussed in detail the objectives, actionplans, and various benefits of digital transactions under the CashlessBangladesh Initiative. A question-and-answer session with participants was alsoconducted.

Later, practicaldemonstrations on QR code–based payment systems were provided at the booths ofthe participating banks. Through this day-long campaign,emphasis was placed on increasing public awareness of digital transactions.Senior officials of IFIC Bank, as the lead bank, along with representatives ofother banks and invited guests from various professions, were present at theevent.
