Iran’s leading private airline, Mahan Air, is set to launch direct flights from Bangladesh to Dubai, Muscat and Islamabad, significantly enhancing international air connectivity from the country.
To support its operations, Mahan Air has appointed Aero Versatilo Corporation, a Bangladesh-based aviation services company, as its General Sales Agent (GSA) for passenger and cargo services for next five years. The appointment has received formal approval from the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB).Under the plan, direct flights from Dhaka and Chattogram to Dubai will commence in February, followed by services from Dhaka and Chattogram to Muscat, as well as Dhaka to Islamabad and Karachi, starting in March.
The airline aims to serve the large Bangladeshi expatriate communities in Dubai and Muscat by offering competitive airfares, checked baggage allowance of up to 52 kilograms, along with enhanced in-flight dining and entertainment facilities.
Mahan Air has decided to deploy wide-body aircraft, including the Boeing 777 or Airbus A340, with a minimum seating capacity of approximately 300 passengers on each route.
For ticket sales and marketing of inbound flights to Bangladesh, Aero Versatilo Travels (Dubai) and Ummah Star Solution (Oman) have been appointed as exclusive sales partners for Dubai–Bangladesh and Muscat–Bangladesh routes respectively.
The initiative is expected to improve passenger convenience, cargo capacity and affordability across Bangladesh, the Middle East and Pakistan.
Mrs. Khandaker Selina Akhtar Rani, the authorized General Sales Agent (GSA) rights holder of Mahan Air in Bangladesh, stated that the initiative is poised to open new opportunities for passenger and cargo connectivity between Bangladesh, the Middle East, and Pakistan.
In the same vein, Wing Commander AlimunNahar, CEO of Mahan Air GSA - Aero Versatilo Corporation, expressed strong confidence that, through its internationally benchmarked service standards, Mahan Air will soon establish itself as a preferred airline for expatriate Bangladeshis.
