Leftist parties deplore US attack on Venezuela

Leaders and activists of different leftist political parties organized a rally in the capital Dhaka city yesterday and the demonstrators marched towards the US Embassy, Dhaka deploring the United States for launching attacks on Latin American country Venezuela and for abducting Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro and his spouse Cilia Flores.

Communist Party of Bangladesh (CPB) President Kazi Sazzad Zahir Chandan and prominent socialist politician Dr. Mushtaque Hossain led the rally and the agitators chanted slogans against the US imperialism. The leftist leaders strongly condemned the US assault on Venezuela and they urged the US administration to release Nicolas Maduro and his wife immediately.

Police force interrupted the leftist rally at Badda but the protesters broke through police personnel's impediments and proceeded. Bangladesh Samajtantrik Dal (BSD) and Socialist Party of Bangladesh (SPB) participated in the rally among another few socialist political platforms. SPB General Secretary Bazlur Rashid Firoz spoke at the rally too.

The leftist leaders slammed the Bangladesh interim government for deploying police force to obstruct peaceful rallies. The speakers at the rally also deplored crimes like murders, robbery and gang rape all over Bangladesh. The leftist leaders accused the Bangladesh interim government for endorsing the neoimperialistic activities of the United States of America.
