BUET admission test records 87.44% attendance

The admission test of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) for the 2025–26 academic year has concluded. The examination was held on Saturday, January 10, from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM in two shifts. According to BUET, the attendance rate in this year’s admission test was 87.44 percent. In a press release, BUET stated that based on preliminary screening and merit, 10,351 applicants were selected to sit for the admission test. Among them, 7,644 were male candidates and 2,707 were female candidates. Out of the selected examinees, a total of 9,051 candidates appeared in the examination. Under the faculties of Chemical and Materials Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, and Architecture and Planning, students will be admitted to a total of 13 departments at the undergraduate level. This year, the admission test was conducted against a total of 1,309 seats. These include three reserved seats for candidates belonging to ethnic minority groups from the Chittagong Hill Tracts and other regions—allocated to engineering departments and the Department of Urban and Regional Planning (with no more than one seat per department)—as well as one reserved seat for the Department of Architecture. BUET has announced that the merit list, along with the names of finally selected and waiting-listed candidates for admission, is likely to be published on February 7.
