'Police vow to work for credible election'

Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Dhaka Range Rezaul Karim Mallick has urged the members of police to work with devotion to ensure a free, fair, and credible election. 

He came up with the remarks while addressing a special meeting on law and order at the conference room of the Narayanganj district police super office on Monday. 

Referring to the expectations of Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus, he said, "The people of the country are expecting a free, fair and impartial election and the police force will work towards that goal."

The DIG directed all police officers to carry out their duties honestly, impartially, and professionally during the upcoming national election. 

He instructed officers-in-charge to take strict legal action against anyone attempting to create disorder or chaos in the electoral process. 

Following the meeting, the DIG visited the Narayanganj District Police Lines and took part in a meeting on welfare of police. 

The DIG provided necessary directives to the concerned officers to take steps to resolve the problems facing by the cops. 

Superintendent of Police of Narayanganj District Mohammad Mizanur Rahman Munshi and senior officers, officers in charge of different units were present.
