Three including top drug trader  detained in Satkhira

Members of Bangladesh Army detained three drug traders including top drug trader Yasin Arafat in Satkhira on Tuesday night. 

The arrestees have been identified as Yasin Arafat, 25, son of Aminul Islam of Palashpul area, Rakib Hossain, 20, son of Abdur Razzak of Kamalnagar and Murad Hossain, 20, son of Mukul Hossain of the same area in Satkhira. 

Acting on a secret tip-off, Army personnel arrested three drug traders from the Garekanda area of Satkhira city during a raid conducted from 8 pm to 10:30 pm on Tuesday. According to sources of Satkhira Sadar Army Camp, a total of 420 pieces of yaba tablets, cash Tk 415,230, 6 domestic weapons, 15 sticks were seized from their possession. Masudur Rahman, officer-in-charge (OC) of Satkhira Sadar police station, said, "The army members handed over the detainees to the police station on Wednesday afternoon."

A case has been filed with the police station in this incident. The detainees have been sent to jail through the court, the OC added.
