BVCCI Hosts New Year 2026 Get-Together in Dhaka

The Bangladesh-Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry(BVCCI) organized a special get-together at the Novo Convention Center in thecapital to celebrate the English New Year 2026 alongside Vietnam’s Lunar NewYear, observed on February 17.

The event was graced by the Ambassador of Vietnam toBangladesh, H.E. Mr. Nguyen Manh Cuong, as the Chief Guest.

At the beginning of the program, participants observed aone-minute silence in memory of the late Abdus Sobhan, Director of BVCCI, inrecognition of his significant contributions to strengthening bilateral tradeand economic relations between Bangladesh and Vietnam.

Welcoming the distinguished guests with floral greetings,BVCCI President Syed Mustafizur Rahman extended warm hospitality to diplomats,business leaders, and other attendees.

The program also paid tribute to the Language Movementmartyrs of Bangladesh. Honoring their sacrifice, speakers expressed deepgratitude, stating, “We hold profound respect in our hearts for the braveheroes who sacrificed their lives to secure the right to speak in our mothertongue with pride.”

In his special address, Ambassador Nguyen Manh Cuonghighlighted the growing economic cooperation and mutual opportunities betweenBangladesh and Vietnam. He emphasized the importance of enhanced collaborationin trade, investment, and cultural exchange.

Certificates were awarded to new members of the Chamberduring the ceremony. Senior chamber leaders, foreign diplomats, businessorganizers, journalists, and other distinguished personalities were present atthe event.

The gathering reflected the strong and expanding partnershipbetween Bangladesh and Vietnam, underlining the shared commitment to deepeningbilateral ties in the years ahead.
