Premier University secures BAC accreditation for five programs

A prayer program (Doa Mahfil) was held at Premier University to express gratitude following the decision of the Bangladesh Accreditation Council (BAC)—the national quality assurance authority for higher education—to grant accreditation certificates to five undergraduate academic programs of the university.

The Doa Mahfil took place on Sunday (1 February 2026), after the Asr prayer, at the Central Mosque of Premier University located at GEC Circle. The programs approved for accreditation are: Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA), B.A. (Honours) in English, Bachelor of Laws (LL.B. Honours), B.S.S. (Honours) in Economics, and B.Sc. in Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE), according to a press release.

The event was attended by the Honorable Vice Chancellor of Premier University, Professor S. M. Nasrul Qadir; Dean of the Faculty of Arts, Professor Dr. Mohit Ul Alam; Registrar Mohammad Iftekhar Monir; Director of the International Affairs Office Sadat Zaman Khan; Controller of Examinations Sheikh Muhammad Ibrahim; Chairman of the Department of English Syed Jasim Uddin; Student Welfare Advisor Dr. Abdur Rahim; Proctor Mohammad Solaiman Chowdhury; Additional Director (ETL) of IQAC Gazi Shahadat Hossain; Coordinator of the Accounting Discipline Dr. Ahsan Uddin; Assistant Proctors Dr. Tasnim Uddin Chowdhury and Rakibul Hossain; Librarian Kawsar Alam; along with faculty members from various departments of the university.

While addressing the gathering, Vice Chancellor Professor S. M. Nasrul Qadir stated that this recognition by the Bangladesh Accreditation Council is a matter of great pride for Premier University. He noted that it reflects institutional confidence in the university’s academic activities, curriculum development, research environment, infrastructure, and administrative efficiency. He further emphasized that this achievement is the result of the collective efforts of faculty members, students, officers, and staff, and reaffirmed the university’s commitment to ensuring internationally recognized standards of higher education in the future.

Registrar Mohammad Iftekhar Monir remarked that the decision to grant accreditation certificates is an acknowledgment of the university’s overall academic quality, including education, research, curriculum, and infrastructure. He described it as a significant milestone that will further strengthen Premier University’s journey toward aligning its academic programs with international benchmarks.

The prayer program was conducted by Hafiz Maulana Md. Moinuddin, Imam of the Central Mosque of Premier University. He offered prayers seeking the continued progress of the university, success for its students and faculty, and peace and prosperity for the country and the nation. It is noteworthy that the Bangladesh Accreditation Council formally communicated its decision to grant accreditation to the aforementioned five undergraduate programs through an official letter signed on 27 January 2026.
