State Minister Aminul ask BCB to lift restriction on journalists' entry

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has extended its heartfelt congratulations to Aminul Haque on his appointment as the State Minister for the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Bangladesh Government.

Aminul Haque's leadership on the field of sports inspired a generation of supporters and young sportsmen across the country, the BCB said in a press release on Tuesday evening.

"The former Bangladesh National Football Team captain's elevation to a key role in national sports administration marks an important moment for the sporting fraternity, reflecting recognition of the value of experience earned through competition at the highest level," the release said.

Citing Aminul's appointment as the State Minister for Youth and Sports as the significant step for Bangladesh sports, BCB president Aminul Islam Bulbul said, "The appointment of a distinguished sports figure like Aminul Haque as State Minister for Youth and Sports is a significant step for Bangladesh. Having led the national football team with pride, he understands the realities, challenges and aspirations of athletes firsthand."

Bubul is confident that Aminul's experience as a sportsman will positively influence the development of sports across disciplines.

"The BCB reaffirms its commitment to working closely with the new State Minister and the Ministry of Youth and Sports in promoting and strengthening sports at all levels, ensuring continued progress and opportunity for athletes across Bangladesh," it added.

Meanwhile, BFF president Tabith Awal said, "Personally, I sincerely thank and warmly congratulate you on taking charge as the State Minister of the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the People's Republic of Bangladesh. I firmly believe that you will be successful in the field of sports at national and international levels through your dedication, extraordinary efficiency, and leadership qualities.

"I hope that through your strong leadership, talent, and wisdom, the country's sports arena will become more dynamic and Bangladesh will further strengthen its position in the sports arena."

Newly appointed state minister for youth and sports Aminul Haque on Tuesday asked the Bangladesh Cricket Board to lift any kind of restriction on sports journalists working in the BCB premises.

Earlier, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) had imposed restrictions on the journalists' entry in the BCB premises, except for official events, trainings or matches.

Speaking at a press conference later in the evening, Aminul made it clear that he was unaware of the extent of the restrictions. He assured reporters that the matter would be resolved without delay.

'I don't know why you have been forbidden to enter the venue [at Mirpur] by the BCB. From now on you will go to the stadium and will work there freely. And no one will stop you from working,' Aminul stated during a press conference.
