Other movements are not equivalent to Liberation War: Hafiz Uddin
Liberation War Affairs Minister Hafiz Uddin Ahmed Bir Bikram has said that the great Liberation War is the foundation of Bangladesh's freedom. So, it would not be right to compare other movements and struggles with the Liberation War.
He made the remark at his ministry office on Sunday during a views exchange meeting with Jatiyo Muktijodha Council (JAMUKA) members.
Hafiz Uddin Ahmed further said that the history and spirit of the Liberation War have been misused for a long time. As a result the young generations could not know the actual history.
''Many members of our new generations are unaware of the immense sacrifices of the freedom fighters. We must remember that the Liberation War is the foundation of the birth of this state,'' the minister added.
Liberation War Affairs Ministry's Secretary Israt Chowdhury, JAMUKA Members and high officials of the ministry concerned were present at that time.
