Women's Football Team plays friendly match against Western Sydney
Bangladesh Women's National Football Team played a closed-door friendly match on Wednesday against Western Sydney Wanderers FC at the club's Field 3 training ground in Sydney. Kick-off was at 4:00 PM (Sydney Time).
The match formed an important part of the Tigresses' ongoing preparation camp in Australia, providing valuable competitive exposure against a top-tier A-League Women side. This game allowed the coaching staff to assess tactical variations, squad rotation and overall match readiness in a controlled environment offering the Bangladesh side an opportunity to experiment with various formations and player combinations while maintaining tactical discipline.
As part of the structured recovery plan, there will be no field training session on Thursday. Instead, the squad will undertake a swimming pool recovery session at Valentine Sports Park, emphasizing regeneration and physical maintenance.
Bangladesh, for the first time is going to participate in the final stage of the AFC Asian Cup, grouped with strong China, North Korea and Uzbekistan.
Bangladesh eve football team will start their campaign taking on nine times champion China on March 3 at Western Sydney Stadium, Sydney and will play their second match against three times champion North Korea on March 6 at the same venue before facing Uzbekistan on March 9 at Perth Rectangular Stadium, Perth.
The top two teams from each of the three groups and the two best third-placed sides will advance to the quarterfinals. But on paper, Bangladesh face the toughest test in their history, with ninth-ranked North Korea and 17th-ranked China towering above them in the FIFA standings.
