Mirza Abbas hospitalized in Singapore

BNP Standing Committee member and Prime Minister's Political Advisor Mirza Abbas has been admitted to Singapore General Hospital.

The senior BNP leader reached the hospital on Sunday afternoon following a three-and-a-half-hour journey by air.

He has been placed in the Neuro Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the hospital, confirmed BNP Health Affairs Secretary Rafiqul Islam.

"I have spoken with the doctors there. They have examined him and confirmed that the flight caused no complications. He is currently stable," said Rafiqul, reports bdnews24.com.

Abbas was flown out of Shahjalal International Airport at 11:30am on Sunday.

His transfer follows a critical medical emergency earlier in the week after he fell ill and unconscious during Iftar on Wednesday.
The Dhaka-8 MP underwent a four-hour brain surgery at a private hospital on Friday.
