Professor Mamun Ahmed made new UGC Chairman
Dhaka University Pro-Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Mamun Ahmed is set to be appointed as the next Chairman of the University Grants Commission (UGC).
Education and Primary and Mass Education Minister ANM Ehsanul Haque Milon came up with the disclosure at a briefing at 4:00pm in the conference room of the ministry on Monday.
Speaking at the briefing, the minister stated that the appointment of Professor Dr Mamun Ahmed as the UGC chairman is now at its final stage and an official notification regarding the appointment will be issued shortly.
Earlier on Monday, the current UGC Chairman Professor Dr. S M A Faiz submitted an application to step down from his position, citing physical illness and his inability to continue performing the responsibilities of the post.
