Chinese Embassy clarifies Eid gifts distribution with Jamaat Ameer
 
The Chinese Embassy in Dhaka distributed gifts on account of Eid Ul Fitr among destitute people at Mirpur area on Tuesday (17 March 2026) which belongs to Dhaka 15 constituency. 

Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh Yao Wen handed over Eid gifts to local inhabitants. Jamaat Ameer Dr. Shafiqiur Rahman was seen in the program with Chinese Ambassador Yao Wen. Jamaat Ameer's presence with the Chinese Ambassador at the charitable program has caused confabulations, astonishment and questions on social media. 

The Chinese Embassy, Dhaka later on issued a clarification over the matter. According to the Chinese Embassy, the social media post on the above event is not fully correct. The Chinese Embassy stated that China always upholds support for the Bangladesh government's endeavours for good governance. China reiterated its determination to keep on working with Bangladesh for the betterment of the people in both countries. 

Earlier on, Jamaat-E-Islami termed the Eid gifts distribution program as a joint initiative on Jamaat's verified Facebook page with the Chinese Embassy which generated confusion. Afterwards when the Chinese Embassy explained the relevant points, Jamaat-E-Islami authorities edited their Facebook post.
