Russian Ambassador to Bangladesh Alexander Grigoryevich Khozin called on the Prime Minister's Defence Adviser Brigadier General (Retd) AKM Shamsul Islam at the Armed Forces Division in Dhaka Cantonment on Sunday (5 April 2026). Alexander Khozin led a delegation team from the Russian Embassy which consisted of three officials including the Ambassador himself.
Alexander Grigoryevich Khozin and AKM Shamsul Islam exchanged views on the current friendly ties between the military forces of Bangladesh and Russia. They both laid emphasis on exploring new bilateral prospects to make the relationship between the two countries all the more consolidated and stronger.
The Russian delegation team and Bangladesh Prime Minister's Defence Adviser AKM Shamsul Islam expressed hope that the longstanding strategic alliance between Moscow and Dhaka will be gaining much more substantial momentum in days to come. Both sides noted that Russia is a vital development partner for Bangladesh and the friendship between the two countries bears a great deal of significance.
The Russian Ambassador and his colleagues extended gratitude to AKM Shamsul Islam for sharing his valuable time with the visitors from the Russian Embassy located in Dhaka.
