MoU signed between Hajj Office and Bangladesh Tourism Corporation

An agreement has been signed between the Hajj Office and the Bangladesh Tourism Corporation (BTC) to ensure quality food and improved services for pilgrims during the upcoming Hajj season 2026. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed today at the Hajj Office under the Ministry of Religious Affairs, located in Ashkona, Dhaka. Under this agreement, the Bangladesh Tourism Corporation will be responsible for operating two cafeterias within the Hajj Office premises to provide hygienic and high-quality meals to the pilgrims.

With the management of the cafeterias entrusted to BTC, pilgrims staying at the Hajj Office are expected to receive safe, nutritious, and delicious food. All necessary preparations for operating the cafeterias have already been completed. The services are scheduled to commence on April 16 and will continue round-the-clock for a period of 36 days, according to a press release.

The MoU was signed on behalf of the Hajj Office by its Director, Mr. Md. Lokman Hossain, and on behalf of the Bangladesh Tourism Corporation by its General Manager (Commercial), A.N.M. Mostadud Dastagir. The signing ceremony was held at the BTC headquarters, “Parjatan Bhaban,” in Agargaon, Dhaka. The event was attended by the Chairman of Bangladesh Tourism Corporation, Ms. Sayema Shahin Sultana, along with directors and senior officials from both organizations.

Speaking at the event, the Chairman of BTC stated that the organization will make every effort to ensure hygienic food at affordable prices and provide improved services to the honorable Hajj pilgrims. She also expressed her gratitude to the Ministry of Religious Affairs for entrusting BTC with this sacred responsibility.

The Director of the Hajj Office expressed confidence that all necessary support will be provided from their side to ensure the smooth operation of the cafeterias. He also extended sincere thanks to Bangladesh Tourism Corporation for undertaking this noble initiative.
