15th Int’l Women’s SME Expo Bangladesh 2026 starts

Organized by the Chittagong Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CWCCI), the month-long 15th International Women's SME Expo commenced on April 11, 2026, at 4:00 PM at the Railway Polo Ground in the port city, according to a press release.

The announcement was made at a press conference held at the Karnaphuli Hall of the Chattogram Press Club by CWCCI Vice President and Expo Committee Chairperson, Lutfeela Farid.

According to Lutfeela Farid, the expo features approximately 350 stalls and 20 pavilions, including 100 stalls exclusively allocated for women entrepreneurs. A special “Women Zone” has been introduced to support small-scale female entrepreneurs, offering stalls at subsidized rates. Priority has been given to locally produced goods, particularly handicrafts, with a dedicated zone for artisans to promote and expand their businesses. Entrepreneurs from India, China, Thailand, and Pakistan are also participating in the expo. She further noted that the event includes an attractive amusement park for children, and free entry tickets have been arranged for students from various schools across the city. To ensure visitor convenience and safety, facilities such as police camps, CCTV surveillance, fire service support, prayer spaces, and uninterrupted electricity and water supply have been arranged.

One of the major highlights of this year’s expo is the “7th SME Banking Match-Making Fair 2026,” organized with the support of Bangladesh Bank. This initiative will provide women entrepreneurs with direct access to banking institutions, enabling eligible participants to take immediate steps toward securing business loans. The expo was inaugurated by the Mayor of Chattogram City Corporation, Dr. Shahadat Hossain, as the Chief Guest. Special guests included Members of Parliament Mohammad Abu Sufian and Saeed Al Noman. Distinguished guests present at the event were Chattogram Divisional Commissioner Dr. Md. Ziauddin, DIG of Chattogram Range Md. Moniruzzaman, and Deputy Commissioner Md. Zahidul Islam Mia. The organizers have warmly invited people from all walks of life in Chattogram to visit the month-long expo and support the country’s women entrepreneurs by encouraging their locally made products.
